It can be hard, in today’s world, to focus on yourself. There are so many distractions around us that have the ability to completely fracture our focus in a matter of seconds.  Today, challenge yourself to block out all of the world’s distractions. Turn your phone off, let your mind center itself and give yourself the time to find a truly calm moment. Be present, truly present, with yourself– mind, body, and spirit aligned to focus on the whole. Turn this into an honest moment of self-reflection. Examine who you are, what your primary principles are, and what you want. What is important to you? What makes you get up in the morning? What keeps you motivated to get through the day? Do you know your true purpose on this earth? If you don’t have these answers yet, don’t panic!

16personalities.com is a great source for a foundational personality identifier. I would highly recommend taking the short test to see an informational breakdown of your personality type, a percentage of people who share that type, a list of strengths and weaknesses, and more. Understanding that you are not strong in every area is also important. You are beautifully and wonderfully made, and people are always going to be stronger in some areas than others! This is part of what makes each and every person special and useful in their own unique ways.

No matter how well you know yourself, remember that there is always room for improvement– investing time in yourself is never a bad idea! One can never be too abundant in self realization, self actualization, and self love. Once you are fully conscious of yourself, you can take further control of your life. Understanding that no one is perfect– but that everyone is beautiful– is an incredibly important step in the journey towards inner peace.

So true. Sometimes we must totally stop to become aware. With our self awareness or the awareness of the almighty. Psalms 46:10- be still and know that I am God…
