You are Priceless to God

 We are powerful!

Everyone seems to be afraid to acknowledge this, is it because we are afraid to believe it or scared we may seem we are comparing ourselves to God? In Genesis 2, we see Eve being tempted by the serpent asking her if she wants to be like God. Because of this fear, I believe, we play it safe by bringing ourselves down to the lowest level possible. That is not good either.

But wait! Remember Scripture tells us that we are an extension of God and made in His image; therefore, we are awesome (Genesis 1:26-27). Yes, if we are not careful we can see ourselves as being equal with God and this is a serious problem as scripture states in Romans 1:25. The verse states: “Who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”

Unfortunately, when we read this scripture we have a tendency because of fear to drastically take it to the other end of the spectrum and despise the creature in order to not offend God. This is not what God wants us to do with ourselves. King Solomon talks about how everything must have a balance. We must understand that we are truly great to be on measure while also understanding our place in regards to a Holy God.

If we say we are nothing to God, we diminish the value that Christ placed on us when he gave His life for us. What message are we telling God when we hate ourselves? We are certainly of no use to Him or anyone around us in this state. Try and see the value you have to offer and how it can be applied to honor God and to help others. God says you should love Him with all of your heart, all of your soul, and all of your mind (Matthew 22:37). If you feel insufficient in any of these areas, does this mean you are loving God less than you could?

If you are to love your neighbors, or everyone around you, as yourself (Matthew 22:39), but you hate yourself chances are you’re of no service or help to others. I hope you can see the greatness and understand the value God has placed on you. If you don’t see your value in yourself you are broken and broken things cannot work properly.

You are not broken, you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139). Take some time to read Psalms 139: 1-18 often. David gives us a perfect picture on how valuable you are to a holy God. I cannot stress the blessings you will miss not knowing how He feels toward you. Even if you do not believe the Bible as I do, you will gain so much from this reading.
